Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Less than a month

I installed , icon did not appear in menu bar. Opened ITunes unable to get any sound
at all. I went into systems preferences it said it was running. I restarted several times
but still was not working.
I had to uninstall, keeping my fingers crossed that I would return to find my original sound
back to normal.

Patience has a pay off!!! - jimmyhoops

I encountered the "no audio output" issue that the previous poster encountered, but found an immediate solution for it on their FAQ page.

You can reset your audio by doing one of two things: click disable, then enable from the AstoundStereo pref pane; or click mute then un-mute on your keyboard. This is a known issue as stated in their FAQ page and will be addressed in their next update as per AstoundStereo.

But aside from that, the AstoundStereo sounds great and it's incredibly easy to use! I'm looking forward to some new features including a large speaker mode that their tech. rep. told me about. I had some questions and their tech support responded to my request immediately.

Thier v2.0 update will be available in the beginning of May. I use airtunes with airfoil to send Astound processed iTunes to my home stereo and it sounds incredible. I have very decent speakers (+ separate amps & preamp) and this software definitely wakes the speakers up! Can't wait to hear the large speaker setting on my home system.

Finally, It's definitely worth taking a few moments to make sure that you have your computer configured correctly. This product is definitely worth trying as they provide a free 30 day trial. So don't take my word for it, go find out for yourself!
