Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: 1-6 months

Recommend Product: YES

As some people posted some very misleading comments on Versiontracker and other sites comparing Safari 4 Modifier with Safari 4 Buddy I decided to put up a comparison of the two.

http://www.ahatfullofsky.comuv.com/English/Programs/S4M/Safari4Buddy/Safari4Buddy.html

But I think the real reason for their comments can be seen from these three snippets:

> Safari 4 Modifier does not look like a standard Mac application
> because it was developed with REALbasic not Xcode.

> Radio buttons are not against user interface guidelines while
> REALBasic is.

> another person claims that this app looks better (yes, we
> all love Windows)

As any REALbasic developer can tell there is an extraordinary amount of trolling against anything REALbasic going on. I can only speculate that it is by some misguided Xcode developers - maybe it is envy because REALbasic can also compile for Windows and Linux. Maybe it is by some Mac zealots who think we are the enemy as we also support users on Windows. I don’t know. But I would challenge anyone to tell me how S4M does not look like a Mac app while Safari Buddy allegedly does. So please try both (I did) and let me know.

And just for the record: I’m a Mac man myself. Have been since 1987.

And I use REALbasic. Since 2003.

Misleading comments - GGGlen

It takes real nutcases to dis an app that works as advertised, provides a benefit to end users, and is handed out for free.

I downloaded this little app, it did exactly what it said the author said it would do, and I'm happy to have stumbled across it.
