... "had no idea how he was going to rename the 456 pictures from his last vacation" - he just had to search VersionTracker to find Name Mangler, NameChanger, FileRenamer and BatchRename'em, all of which are freeware.

i search this site and macupdate too, and i did find those apps; but none of them replace file content, and Search&Replace combines both so i'm going for the one that best suits my needs.no need for your useless comment.
