I 'earned' this program from Macheist [thanks to the folks at Macheist] and have been using it for about a month. I was a bit skeptical at first about whether I would use it or not--I already have sketchbox, journler, and use notebook and notetaker. It turns out that I am not interested in an app being all things to me, and prefer to have it do one thing very well. Shovebox is just one of those programs.
While researching on-line I use it to take notes on different items, mostly from googlebooks and other reading intense sources. I have succesfully imported my notes into other programs at later dates. It serves as very good 'scratch pad'. Given its size it is very easy to take notes with other programs open. I know that you can do something similar in Zotero but I don't like leaving my stuff in their program--the UI isn't good for me. I prefer exporting the info into the right program at another date, to having to use Firefox to retrieve my info.
While I wouldn't have paid $25 for it, I would have given $10 for the program. So keep your eye out for a deal.
