What the hell is ".bz2" and how the hell do I open it?

Why can't people stick to common compression methods?

Huh? - Rufus J

bz2 is a common format, offering very efficient compression, much better than zip. The default utility provided by OS X should open it. It does in Leopard, at any rate. Stuffit should open it as would most any other compression utility you might install, such as The Unarchiver.

Thanks Rufus. Nothing to add. Also: if you are running PPC 10.5.6 and you can get 2.0 running then post a line about it here. Cheers.
