and instead of following their advice to enter the value 5526.12, enter 5528.18.

Also, at least some SIMBL plugins (for example, Safari Tidy 0.2.5) work fine if the bundle value is changed to 5528. (I can't speak for other SIMBL plugins, since I don't use any others, but unless there are other issues with them, in principle this solution may allow their use.)
