Existing users, 
I'm using transmission for .. two years ? without pb... since the last update. After some minutes (sometimes 10, sometimes 100...) the transferts just stop (as menu meter shows that) and then, it freezes my Mac Pro... not everything is frozen at once, first Wired, FTP and Firefox.. then the finder and then all applications. Sometimes I can quit some app, I can ask the Mac Pro to reboot (no effect) but anyway,I have to manually shutdown and reboot my Mac Pro.
I didn't suspected Transmission at the beginning. I frst thought it was my system, so I made a reinstall. Same PB. Then I made a clean install from scratch. Same PB. Then I thought it was a RAM problem... I changed them, tested them several times. Same. Then I choose to let my computer running without any apps. Nothing happens... And I opened my app one after the other, with two hours between each launch. And there it is: Transmission froze my Mac Pro 4 times in a single hour. I had to stop to use it, and the pb didn't occur for now two days.
I really hope it can be fixed.
(Mac Pro 2x2,66ghz, 4 Go ram, Os 10.5.6)
P.S: I got an imac C2D @ work, using 10.4.11, and no freeze for now. Maybe the pb is only on some 10.5 systems ?

There has always been a SLOW death of Some OSX 10.5 users Macs when using transmission. Its allways been possible to kill OSX 10.5 completely With Transmission.The problem is well posted about on their forums.
For some users like you. its random with each update With other users like me its permanent bug on the app and the app can't be used. due to the complete Crash/freeze. Due to the HOLE Mac system freezing/crashing NO bug reports are realy possible. Those who do survive the app, have completely different specs to each other and no Other torrent app causes this error.
The developers are stuck in a loop with this bug on Mac.

There might be an issue - I too have problems.Transmission has always been rock solid and rules the universe in general but since 1.5* it crashes on startup So I rolled back to 1.42 wich works fine.
Might be installation dependant: G5 Quad, 10.5.6
