I really want to like this program. I really do. It has a lot of cool features. However, I have a great deal of difficulty getting it to do exactly what I want to do. For example, suppose I use the shortcut "ed" and have it set for "Eastern District of New York." Here is where the problem comes in. Sometimes, I type a word that could have "ed" on the end and don't use the suffix "ed." Then I type a space. Then I realized that I should have used a word with an ending of "ed." When I backspace once and simply type "ed", it types out "Eastern District of New York." It should have recognized that I was merely adding the letters "ed" to the end of the previous word. While this may seem like a small complaint, it's very annoying, because if you don't constantly watch the screen you can end up with results that are not to your liking.

setting TE to expand only after white space will take care of this problem - provided you never need to expand abbreviations typed immediately after some other character...

actually, the most basic resolution for this problem is to simply change your abbreviation. if you change the abbreviation for "Eastern District of New York" to "edny", you're not likely to continue experiencing the problem you describe.

i once had an abbreviation in TypeIt4Me that i used for a good year or more before i encountered a conflict between the abbreviation and something else i might have occasion to type; when i did i just changed the abbreviation slightly. problem solved.

hope this helps.
