Feedback Type:  Troubleshooting Report

Contributed by: dgkanter Wednesday, February 04 2009 @ 09:02 PM PST

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Over One Year

Installer caused kernel panic as soon as it began the installer script. (Downloaded installer, again, directly from the developer’s Web site; again got the kernel panic.)
System Info:MacBook Pro running OS 10.5.6 with DoubleCommand v1.6.3 installed—which was working fine.

Kernel Panic During Install - dgkanter

Oops; should have reported that I got in touch with the developer a couple of weeks ago via the on-line forum for DoubleCommand. After I performed a couple of tests for him, he pinned down that my problem was when the installer went to unload the kext for my installed v1.6.3. I'm now happily running v1.6.7.
