..whether you want to or not. I do not approve of having Google make this choice for me. I'll stick with 4.3 unless Google drops that requirement. Shame on you Google, I thought your company mandate was to "do no evil." Now you're forcing us to consent to spyware.

I left feedback about this point yesterday and VersionTracker deleted it. Almost seems fishy.

Forces you to install Google's auto update - leoofborg1

MacUpdate doesn't seem to have a problem discussing this. See the Picasa and GEarth reviews over there.

And for the record, Picasa does this too. VERY annoying.

Oh, you mean like evil Google Desktop? - zunipus

Time for good, solid RANT:

This intrusive attitude from Google is, IMHO, E V I L. So much for the cute slogan. This WE FORCE YOU TO RUN OUR CODE rubbish is soooo deja vu of Google Desktop. That POS lasted a day on my Mac, never to be seen again. I expectorate on you!

You'd think Google would get the hang of the fact that most Mac users ARE NOT SHEEP. We are not zomboid Windows users oblivious to quality as an option. Instead Mac users are typically the discerning members of the computer community and we don't put us with bullsh*t. Not from MegaloSquirt and DUH, not from Google.

--> So Google, since you are perpetrating evil, take your marketing moron motivated bad attitude and shove it in both your -oo- orifices. Come back with a USER FRIENDLY (ahem, the Apple anthem!) attitude or don't come back at all, you lying, manipulative *I-AM-THE-BOSS-OF-YOU* freaks.

BTW: This bad attitude is not universal at Google. I love lots of their stuff and use it daily, hourly, minutely, secondly.... I think what we have here is a bullying bozo blockhead sect within a usually kewl company.
