I needed something to do a timeline for a fairly important presentation and I happened to look at VersionTracker for a solution. I found Bee Docs Timeline. Figuring it out was pretty easy, though it wasn't clear that to save any new entry, you had to "click" out of the data form. Once I had that down, it was clear sailing.
The only recommendations I'd have at this point are to have the developer consider putting a "Done" or "Ok" button on the data form (or make it easier to understand how to save the entry), and something that would allow you to warn you when you're about to make your timeline way too many pages to print.
Other than those two suggestions, it's the best way I've found to create timelines. The kids are even using it for their junior high school projects, so how hard can it be?
