Well, it's been a while since I last updated my TeXShop version, as the prior version has worked so well for me, but I thought I would do a bit of updating just to see the new changes. This version is great. First, a few of the older features that would work sporadically (at least for me on a 2006 model MacBook) are now fully operational on my computer, i.e., clicking on the source page to circle something on the output PDF and clicking on the PDF to highlight a line of code in the source window both work flawlessly now. They may have worked for others this whole time, but I couldn't get them to work too well, which may have been simply my fault anyway.

The line numbers on the source page are a great idea and very helpful. It's nice to have the console output an error on some line and be able to find that line in the source window easily. And the background color changes are now quite accessible, which is a nice feature. There is one little problem with this update, however. Whenever you go to change the background color for either the source or console windows, you cannot change it back to a white background by just clicking on one of the white pallet squares in the color wheel/swatch pop-up window. What worked for me is clicking on the little arrow that controls color gradation on the right side of the color wheel. It's the only small bug that I've found using this great application.

Thanks a bunch TeXShop developers. I used this program all throughout my graduate school tenure and I wrote my thesis on it, and afterwards I went back and re-wrote every other important document I've ever written (using other programs) on TeXShop so I've used it for years with much personal and professional success. Great program, great tool, great feedback, and great development. I don't think you could ask for much more than that.
