Very cool software, but their upgrade policy is a major scam. Developers should be ashamed of themselves.

Major Scam - andrew.omeara
1) How is paying for new versions a "scam"? We spend real time, resources, and wages making sure our software remains compatible with the latest OS or iTunes quirks. Hint: if we gave our software away for free, we would go out of business and G-Force would cease to exist. How is it that you think we pay our rent and feed our families? When you buy ANY of our products, you are free and clear to install the software IN PERPETUITY. Please read this before throwing the "scam" word around in the future:http://www.soundspectrum.com/g-force/faq.html#expire
Software with a subscription doesn't run in perpetuity, so I can't be any more clear or direct than that.
2) The 'check for updates' can be disabled two ways: via the toolbar GUI or via key command (press H for help). Most software these days checks for updates out of the box so I don't think it's reasonable at all to be upset.

Also forgot to mention that even as a paying and registered user, you still get a "New Version Available" advertisement at the bottom of your screen, which pretty much defeats the purpose for a visually stunning screensaver/visualizer. What's up with that?Reply to This
