Using FB to add text to a folder-icon is perfect for doing just that to any plain folders you have in your "dock." No more hovering the mouse/cursor just to see the name. This helps when dragging an item from the Finder. You can now drag directly into the folder whose name you now see (provided the Dock is not in hide & seek mode). If you do have the Dock in H&S mode, simply drag back & forth along the screen-edge, then, move the cursor over the (now) named folder-icon and release.
