I tried using the WebUpdater to update both a Garmin eTrex and a Garmin Geko connected to a Mac Mini using a KeySpan USA-19HS Serial-to-USB converter. The WebUpdater software fails to recognize the Garmin devices. Garmin is certainly a company that one loves to hate; what with a crippled WebUpdater, firmware bugs in the Geko that have not been corrected and switching to daylight savings time on the wrong date. Pathetic!

I have the same experience. This greatly limits the usefulness of this software, since Macs have not included serial ports for a VERY long time now!
