That's kind of shortsighted. How's Apple going to show a profit during the recession and afford those executive bonuses if Tiger users like you don't upgrade? :-)

It's also fairly asinine, insofar as it's a free program and they don't owe anything to anybody (because the OP was "told" it was the best program around? And please explain how Apple makes money if they *don't* release a Tiger-compatible version? Oh, it's all one big conspiracy, I forgot.)

It has nothing to do with Apple making money. You can't expect to always use current apps without a current OS. It has been this way for a long time and probably always will. The changes that Apple makes between OS versions affects software compatibility. There are a lot of current applications that don't work on pre Leopard Mac OS X. It is also that way in the Windows world. Enough with the conspiracy theories.

Why not version OS4X - duckhue1

I have an Intel Mac running 10.5.6 and I'm as happy as a clam using Transmission. I might try this app some day when it's finished, but I've learned the hard way to wait for an app to get all the bugs out.

Why not version OS4X - Kudrabar

In addition to all the credible criticisms above (though they are frequently unintelligible, like yours), no one abbreviates Mac OS 10.4 as you do - "OS4X". I didn't even know what you were talking about until I read the whole comment. Please either say "Tiger" or "10.4", because OS4X means nothing.
