Roxio jumped the gun it seems

Feedback Type:  Commentary

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Over One Year

The $99.99 upgrade from earlier registered version link leads to the standard $129.99 version purchase page. If purchased, no serial number or download link is furnished for hours, maybe a day or more - I'm still waiting after about 12 hours. Digital River, Roxio's distributor, confirms the purchase and card debit, but is waiting for Roxio to provide them with the s/n and download link to forward to the purchaser - me in this case. Anyone actually received the downloaded product and s/n yet? Anyone able to take advantage of the $99.99 upgrade price?

Roxio jumped the gun it seems - peetz

When I encountered this problem (no upgrade discount being applied in the online order process), I did not submit my order. I called Roxio for an explanation. Although I waited on the phone for nearly half an hour, I got satisfactory results when I finally spoke to someone. The only explanation was "an issue" with the website, but I was able to order over the phone, at the correct price, and I had my download link and serial number by email immediately after my purchase.

Strange, when I called them, they would charge me the full price and refund the instant savings later. This is not satisfactory since I am international, and the credit card company takes a cut on both transactions. They said the website would be updated within 24 hours, and so far it hasn't been.

Roxio jumped the gun it seems - Robert Welch

After getting the typical Sonic Solutions runaround yesterday, with no resolution after more than 2 hours on the phone with them to be able to download or get a serial number for the upgrade, I managed to cancel my order with some effort since I was initially told that “unfortunately” they could not do that. They could and finally did after considerable argument.

Today, not wanting to waste more time waiting to talk to them on the phone, I sent them two emails asking if it were now possible to reorder and download the product and get a serial number. I have received no response.

I discovered that Sonic Solutions’ upgrade price for both Toast 10 Titanium and Toast 10 Pro are greater than the full-purchase prices for the same products at MacMall ($83.99 for Toast 10 Titanium and for $123.99 Toast 10 Pro). So much for Sonic Solutions’ special “upgrade” prices! Buying directly from Sonic Solutions has involved needless struggle since they released Toast 9.

If you order either version of Toast 10 from MacMall, they will ship it free beginning Jan. 19, and there is an additional savings of $20 with the manufacturer’s mail in rebate.
