It's a nice piece of software and the "FX Chain" is a neat idea, for those like me who have virtual effects in the form of AUs (i.e. PSP Vintage Warmer and MasterQ). I don't understand how the people behind AudioCodex can't figure out how to implement FLAC support, however they sure are spending a lot of time on eye candy for the app itself.
I guess I will stick for the time being with the free iTunes and Vox - but hélas without effects.

Not bad, but no FLAC support equals showstopper for me.

Just a further note: AudioCodex uses Apple's Core Audio to provide effects playback. We therefore are reliant on Apple's Core Audio file support, and Apple do not support FLAC for their own reasons.QuickTime playback of FLAC is possible in AudioCodex using the plug-ins mentioned in my previous comment, but this will not allow you to use the FX chain.
So sorry, but until Apple provide support for FLAC in Core Audio, AudioCodex will not be able to support it either.

FLAC support is simple to add to AudioCodex. Just download the free XiphQT components for QuickTime. This is documented on our website, in the Help, and in the manual.http://flac.sourceforge.net/download.html
