Assuming most times you'll already be in a Finder window, add the app to the toolbar. With a Finder window open, click on the app wherever you've saved it and drag it to the Finder window's toolbar, waiting a second or two for it "to take." Then whenever you need to invoke it and you are in a Finder window merely click the icon.
