Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Have Not Tried

Recommend Product: NO

As lovely as this application appears - it is very limited in its scope if use. It reminds me of a map I saw years ago, where the entire world was on the map but 99.99 % of the world was the USA.

I am sure that this product would sell like hotcakes ALL OVER THE WORLD. There are more Mac users outside of the US than inside. (fun fact to know, aye).

I have a Garmin that this would work great with; however, I do not need USA maps - I need Australia and Asia and Europe and ...

Get the picture?

Or is this restricted because of the potential of nefarious usage outside the land of the supposed free and home of the timid? (Haven't impeached Schrub or Mr. Waterboard yet or ever!)

Steps down from soapbox...

Seriously, I really think the product looks great but for the limited times I am in the US, why would I want it?

Developer's Myopia - Richard Samul

I'm not sure what you're complaining about here, because this program ships without maps.

Perhaps you're referring to the fact that the developer's site contains mostly links to suppliers of US maps that are compatible with his program. This is not his fault, either. He simply sells a program that can utilize those maps - it can also utilize maps in a wide variety of formats (see the program description), you simply have to find and/or supply them yourself. For instance, it exchanges maps with Google Earth Pro.

I refuse to reply to the "home of the timid" comment - Shrubya and The Waterboarder will get what's coming to them in due time.
