No question that Audacity is a great application. It's versatile, powerful, automatically recognizes existing AU plugins...well, the list goes on. But although it does share many of Wave Editor's features, it's NOT the same thing. Wave Editor is a pre-mastering app from which you can burn CDs to Red Book standards, or export to DDP. The only other OS X app that will do that (PreMaster CD) costs almost 8 times as much...and Audacity doesn't do it at all.
