LiteSwitch was always the first utility I added to my new Macs. But as of 12-12-08, it looks like the company, Proteron, is no more. Their site has been totally taken down, and as of the 10.5.5 Leopard update, LiteSwitch doesn't quite behave. Still works, but you can't access the control panel any more. At least on my Mac Pro Intel 2.66Ghz tower. What a shame. A great, great app.

I agree. The app is one of my greatest productivity enhancers. Makes the Mac oh, so much better! But, I find that it does not show all open apps under 10.5.6, especially those that might be open in another space (I have begun to make use of four desktop spaces, with my browsers in one of them, e-mail in another, etc., and the browsers do not show up in LiteSwitch unless they are in Space #1). If anybody knows of a replacement that works the same way, please give a shout!

Thanks,

--Steve

Company is no more - reidrik.von

I just recently started using this app and it work on my late 2007 MBP 2.6 with 10.5.6 and now 10.5.7. I would gladly pay for this but the as stated the company has gone out of business. Does anyone have a contact at Proteron to see if they would allow Liteswitch X to go opensource?

I'm having no problem continuing to use LiteSwitch and its preference pane. However, I'm concerned because I just discovered that although the prefpane is a Universal Binary, the LiteSwitch application is still PowerPC-only. I may just have to install Rosetta in Snow Leopard.
