Existing users, 
This DAT update for Virex 7 was available on 10/29/2008. McAfee has stopped support for Virex 7 as of Nov. 1, 2008. Why is this DAT update being posted as a new product version when it is identical to the one posted 1.5 months ago?
I still use Virex, but I am discouraged with the elimination of support for version 7.x

Because I requested it.It had been removed from VTs download database and I feel, that if it is indeed the last DAT, it should be kept available awhile longer.
As to the argument over whether anti-virus software is necessary, I only have this to say: I doesn't matter whether it is or isn't necessary, I have the right to be as anal-retentive and/or paranoid as I wish; as long as I'm causing no-one any harm. Ain't America great!!!
There is an old saying, I believe from the late Sixties, that goes: "Just because you're paranoid, doesn't mean no-one's out to get you!"
