Like others, I was somewhat upset with Filemaker's upgrade policy, but then the $49 price is less than other programs. Having put it off, I finally downloaded 2.0 to give it a trial run. It didn't take long to discover I did not want to return to 1.0.
My workaround for the upgrade price was to obtain permission from Filemaker's legal department to sell my 1.0 license on ebay, which fetched over 60% of the purchase price, reducing my upgrade cost to a reasonable margin.
Overall, I am quite happy with 2.3, and find it to be wonderfully flexible, user customizable, and all that most folks need for a database.

How can you sell it, then upgrade it?Reply to This
