Turns out that Readisis' pricing policy is 60 USD for residents of the US/Canada and 100 EUR for the rest of the world (for the downloaded version, no box). A sales agent explains it's because the market in the US is more competitive. So if you are in the rest of the world, I recommend PDFPenPro 4. Does a good job.

They're a Belgian company, so it's not as if they don't know that the "home" crowd is going to be angry about this pricing scheme.The "try it" option doesn't actually let you try the application - you just get to watch a Flash demo.
Anyway, I bought and installed it... and it won't launch. It bounces once in the Dock and that's it. I emailed for support but have yet to receive a reply. If I don't hear from them, it'll be chargeback time on the ol' credit card.
