If you haven't heard, please allow me to share with you the recommended method of installing ANY upgrades through iTunes.

1. When notified that an upgrade is available, click on DOWNLOAD ONLY. Do NOT use the DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL option.

2. When the download is completed, you may then apply the update without fear of corruption due to interrupted service during the download; whether on your end or Apple's.

RECOMMENDED UPGRADE PROCEDURE - michael-fuchs

Installation only commences once the update has been fully downloaded & extracted anyway. But "Download Only" gives you more control as to when to apply the update, e.g. AFTER the one last backup you forgot to do earlier... ;-)
