I believe I had issues with TeaTimer/Spybot and an Oracle database service that was running along with Kaspersky Internet Security.
Since I had already removed version 3 to install version 4 I had to go through multiple manual mode interactions where Kaspersky and/or Spybot wanted authorization. I would suggests turning these off in version 3 before loading version 4 and converting.
After getting the XP world up and running it took multiple tries to get Parallel Tools to install. What I had to do was use the task manager to quick TeaTimer and the Oracle database server. I also quick the iTunesHelper just because...
After I was up and running I assigned 2 cpus (MacBookPro 2.16 GHz Intel Core Duo) to the VM and gave it high priority. I did a performance test with my one Windoze app I need to run from work and here are the results comparing VMware Fusion 2, Parallels 3 and Parallels 4. All times in seconds, same data set used in cloned/converted VMs and the each test was done twice and the results averaged.
