I have checked this out and have found it far more useful than other utilities for a lot more money. Where else are you going to get this much function for such a small price? This does literally dozens and dozens of tasks and is incredibly flexible. You can set up "LCC Documents" that are essentially scripts to do virtually whatever maintenance tasks you need done. The LCC Documents allow you the flexibility to pick specifically the task or tasks that you want and then automate them to fit the needs or requirements of that task or set of tasks. In addition, ClamAV anti virus is a huge bonus. Not that Macs are prone to viruses, but it is absolutely essential that mac users take a more protective approach to their systems. It is also prudent to make sure we're not propagating viruses to our friends and associates. I've been a Mac consultant/service provider since 1990. This is one utility that I plan on utilizing with every one of my Mac clients. It will absolutely save them money, and at the same time it will make my job easier, and make me look better at what I do for my clients.

Better than the rest - waldstille

Your recommendations are very valuable to me, but I wonder if you have an idea as to why someone else here used the application and had everything so messed up that he is having to reinstall the entire OS apparently. A case like that makes me leery of using the application. I'm only asking since you seem to an expert....

I would say that whatever problem he may have had was the exception, rather than the norm. I have been using LCC since it was Tiger Cache Cleaner on several Macs and have never had a problem. I constantly run the maintenance scripts, the optimize scripts and the cache options. I searched a little on the net looking for similar complaints about LCC causing blue screen problems. While I admit my research was not exhaustive, it certainly does not appear to be a widespread issue.
