The PPC version is the answer for all us who have machines that are still too good to trade for Intel boxes. Unfortunately, it seems that the PPC version of Voltaic (1.6.2 at the time of writing) is problematic at best, crashing after one or two encodes, and failing frequently to encode. Hope it gets fixed, this is a great concept even if it doesn't always work!

Problematic at best - justinmac

We've put a lot of work into the PowerPC side of Voltaic over the last few releases.

We are now using a new background task manager (that we developed for FlamingoHD) to handle all conversion work. This new approach is processor agnostic (written in C++) so behaves well on Intel and PowerPC.

These crashes should now be fixed.
