I've been using Tiger and Leopard Cache Cleaners for a long time and when the software asks for an admin password, I type my password so the software can do several tasks to tidy up and optimise my Macbook.
I do not understand why some users have issues with using an admin password but a password seems a small price to pay so that no one unwarranted is mucking up your computer. The gains far outweigh the extra step.
I actually use a handful of utilities for maintenance and I think that's a good idea because Leopard Cache Cleaner has features others do not have. If there is any redundancy, that's acceptable for the unique features it has.
