Personally I don't care if stuffit and/or smith micro try and sell a very obsolete product or not, except that less savvy people I know get bamboozled in to thinking they need a product they absolutely do not. I got irritated at this product years ago where every "new release" was just fixing one set of bugs and as they introduced new ones; some of which were actually modifying files and permissions in ways that harmed your system. No real new functionality has been seen for going on 10 years, yet they charge for each new "update". It just seems slimey to me.
The only "feature" I have used even the last 3-4 years was utilizing the CLI tools they provided to script finding every ".sit" file I had, unpacking it, and ".zip"ing it back up.
