Can't the new Agile Keychain format be used to sync? The web service seems a bit redundant and, quite honestly, not a good use of your time. Running any kind of "service" is a lot of work and requires a great deal of resources. I'd rather see you guys focus on making 1Password even better, not spread yourselves too thin trying to keep a web-based service up and running.

Frankly, I'd like to see you focus on the Wallet. 1Password would be a 5 star app if only the wallet weren't so clunky. Now that you have mobile versions of 1Password, the wallet is even more important! The current UI is weak; it's hard to organize wallet items; importing is still half-baked at best. I could go on and on.

I really wish I could import the hundreds of license keys, etc. that I have stored in another app. That app lets me export to a text file with no problem, but 1Password still won't let me import and map the fields. How hard is this???

Wallet organization is pretty weak. Creating new wallet items is clunky. The xCode-style drop-down sheet when creating a new wallet item is, well, pretty lame especially when compared to Apple's elegant Pages-style template chooser.

In my mind, the wallet should be your #1 priority for the next major release of 1Password. I personally won't be paying for a 1Password upgrade until the wallet is up to snuff. Don't get me wrong. 1Password rocks. I love it. But it's really time to fix the wallet.

Forget the web service and fix the wallet!!! - Soren0

Hi,

I email the company and this is their response:

Please see this thread about the future of my1Password:
http://support.agilewebsolutions.com/showthread.php?p=68814

And we plan on improving the wallet. :)

I hope that helps.

Forget the web service and fix the wallet!!! - dteare

Ben already replied to the email you sent us directly, but I wanted to elaborate on why the my1Password web service existed in the first place.

In the summer of 2007 many people reported problems with .Mac syncing of the 1Password OS X Keychain. At the time, the Agile Keychain did not exist, so we needed to think of something to help users.

The my1Password Web Service was our first attempt at building syncing into 1Password. We learned a lot from this service and applied that knowledge when building the Agile Keychain.

Now that the Agile Keychain is a reality, we are planning on closing the web service entirely. I hope to have it offline by December 1st of this year.

Cheers!
