Even though my wife is taking a college class and I could buy it relatively less expensive. I am sticking with an old version until they eliminate the product validation and registration process. When FileMaker Pro started the same validation process I purchased version FMP 8.5 on ebay. Maybe CS5??

I thought the star rating system was for people who own and use an application and wish to review it? Isn't this just a commentary?Thursday, October 16 2008 @ 06:55 AM PDT

Don't buy it, but also don't complain when it stops working with some future OS upgrade.Or are you one of those people still running OS 8?
We don't always have to upgrade software to the latest versions. Some of us do it because we make a living with it, and then we DO have to upgrade our software. This isn't "prosumer" software. The Mac already comes with enough of that. It's also not badly priced when you get a bundle, and especially not for educational pricing. Go price some REALLY pro graphics software, like PrintergyEVO, that costs like $20,000 and comes with a dongle.
Or even music software like ProTools or Cubase that also cost as much as this suite, and also comes with a dongle. I have two dongles on my Mac for both of these programs.
The validation thing is a pain, but get used to it. It's all going that way now. Mac OS X will follow soon enough.
Unless you are trying to make copies for friends, what's the problem? Violating your rights as a consumer? Read a software license sometime, you don't OWN any of that software you buy. You license it.

Why, do you want to make lots of illegal copies of work that has taken many, many hours to create? Adobe have every right to protect their work and I doubt your not buying a copy will cause them any loss of sleep. You, of course, will lose some great innovations.Reply to This
