For those of you giving negative feedback, you obviously have not given version 2 a try. Version 2 clears up a lot of issues and offers better printing options, more options for exporting, a better interface, and the ease of use that one has come to expect from well designed Mac products.
I used Filemaker Pro for years to run a moderate sized database for about 300-400 people, and it worked flawlessly. It was highly configurable, easy to use, and I loved the fact that it offered cross platform compatibility, so what I did on my Mac worked for my colleagues who used PC's. So, after having had such a positive experience with FIlemaker, I couldn't wait to try Bento.
Bento 1.0 had some rough edges and some obvious bugs, but I liked its basic interface and ease of use. Now version 2.0 builds upon the attractive interface of version 1.0 while adding in many new features, more themes, and as I mentioned earlier, better integration with other programs such as the ability to export directly into Excel, Numbers or even as a straight text file. It also offers the ability to create templates, a much needed feature. I can see using this program for a lot of different projects, such as the creation of a complete home inventory and to track membership in a volunteer organization to which I belong. It much easier to use than Filemaker and perfect for someone needing a smaller, simpler, and much more affordable database program. Highly recommended.

Wonderful Application! - JKennedy60
I downloaded the version 2 trial version and the differences between 1 and 2 are little more than cosmetic. Virtually none of the functionality changes are what people really wanted (based on the FileMaker Bento forums). So now, they're rewarding the early adapters (the ones who beta tested and provided feedback for their product) by requiring them to pay full price a second time .
What a scam....
