Within hours of installing CoolIris, Safari began to stall while loading any graphics-intensive pages, requiring repeated forced-quits (may conflict w/ Videobox.app?). CoolIris doesn't include an uninstaller, so it took a bit of rummaging to locate & delete all the parts. I'm also disappointed that there's no indication of what enhancements &/or fixes are in the most-recent version. For my part, there's nothing so compelling about its features, that I can't wait for both the app & the developer to become better neighbors...

I was able to get Safari to act normally for a brief time by tossing its preference files (there are two). But it was hosed again later that day. Tossing out all the CoolIris odds and ends on my hard drive brought Safari back to life. Then it went hosed again. I had to restart Safari yet again to get it to act normally. This was with CoolIris v1.8.3. I'm sad to see this continue with v1.8.4.Thursday, October 16 2008 @ 03:34 PM PDT
