Apple has shown us, yet again, that greed is the primary motivator in all their endeavors. I have tried out many web browsers and currently use 3 (on 2 separate machines). All have the option available to either open new window/pane or new tab. Safari, however. does not. But for a buck, plus a nominal transaction fee, you can now do what everyone else is doing. Wow!! Although most Mac support works best on Safari and glitches on other browsers, I'll keep using the one I have as is and Firefox for my average day to day use. It's really quite sad that when there are so many companies out there that offer there products at no cost that there would be such a greedy one that charges for almost every little thing in order to match the capabilities of the competition.... some competitor they are.

safari "new tab" button - CraigStanton
Ummm, how on earth does this thing have anything to do with Apple being greedy? The guy trying to sell a button for $1 is *not Apple*. He's a completely separate developer. The new-Tab feature is available free in Safari, the only difference with this download is that a new tab will now open the homepage instead of a blank page. Personally I think it's ridiculous to pay a dollar for that, but then my homepage is a blank window anyway.Whether you like this or not it's got diddly-squat to do with Apple. Sheeesh!
