this app has a bizarre, completely unfamiliar and illogical interface that makes no sense, and comes with no documentation to boot. i'll try working with it a little longer to see if i can figure out why i should use this to search instead of JBidWatcher or simply searching on eBay, but at present the purpose of this application is not evident to me.

True, it's got a very Un Maclike interface, but once you learn how to use it, it's a very worthwhile program! There is some online documentation which is important to look at. Don't give up--once you figure it out, you'll use it often.
