Existing users, 
I was hoping they would put the option back in preferences to turn off arrow links to the store.
That preference check box mysteriously vanished in version 8.00.

try onyx, it can help you can get rid of the arrowsor paste this into the terminal and hit return
defaults write com.apple.iTunes show-store-arrow-links -bool FALSE
