User interface is horrible even on Quad G5 animations are slow, not precise and not smooth at all.

I have to disagree with this comment, though I admit I don't have a G5 with which to test Drive Genius v2.1.0, but on my several G4 Macs and Intel Macs, the Drive Genius GUI seems to run smoothly and fine.
Perhaps this user has some other issue going on which is affecting his graphics performance with this version (v2.1.0) of Drive Genius.
