I've been a professional version license holder (with unlimited lifetime updates) for a couple of years, and have never had an issue with this excellent program until the 8.4.88 update, which caused some minor software instability within VueScan when using my Epson 4990 via Firewire (USB worked fine). I contacted Ed with the information requested in the troubleshooting steps, and heard back within a few hours. After a couple emails back and forth and downloading a maintenance version of 88, the Firewire issue was fixed.
I see a reviewer down below was upset because having only paid for the Standard version (1 year update period) and having an update break his scanner he was unable to receive an archived version. It may sound harsh, but with any software, you should back up before updating. Another is upset because he bought it and it doesn't work with his all-in-one. VueScan is a fully-functional demo. Did you try it before you bought it? And yet this is somehow the developers fault?
VueScan is an excellent product. It creates beautiful scans and in many cases much faster than Epson Scan at similar settings. The scanner compatibility list is unmatched and the developer support is fast and personal. I highly recommend this product.

And some of us know that you work for versiontracker. Vuescan is not too bad, but I'm not going to wet my pants over it.Reply to This
