This really is the best personal organizer/task manager I've ever used. I've tried plenty of systems, online, offline, pen and paper, but I haven't found one better than this. I was an iGTD fan for a while but it's a bit "over-developed," there are just SO many options, keyboard commands, and fields to tab through for every project. Things is much more minimal and therein lies its strength.
The interface is quite minimal but attractive. Dragging links and text from other programs to the "notes" in each task works perfectly. The quick entry function is very smooth when you're in another program (email, say) and realize a task needs to be added.
Things isn't quite fully controllable from the keyboard, but it's certainly moving in that direction. Also drag-and-drop WITHIN the program doesn't work in every situation, but when you try it and it fails, you're notified that this functionality is coming in an update.
The program is incredibly stable for a beta, I have never had a crash.
Some people point out this is not a "pure" GTD system because it is not built around contexts. I think that's a bit misleading because you can create a "contexts" group of tags and sort by those categories. The tagging just gives a much more flexible
I do not buy much commercial software AT ALL. However, I'm ready to pay out for Things when 1.0 arrives. It's good-looking, fast, stable, and actually helps you keep organized rather than adding another element of complexity.
