As an alternative for Excel, Tables does a very good, if not excellent job of both producing, importing and exporting spreadsheets and Excel data. Where Tables really falls down is in its rather basic chart implementation. The chart function compared to that of Excel is very rudimentary, with virtually no customisation. If Tables really is to compete with the likes of Excel, and even Numbers for that matter, it really needs to improve, big time in this department.
