Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Less than a month

Recommend Product: NO

I have been happily using DSS Player with my RS26 foot pedal, but since upgrading to version 7.0.1 it no longer works. This is very odd because this footpedal is still available! What is the point of this software upgrade, if not to improve the Hardware sales for Olympus :(

footswitch RS 25 clearly stated to work with DS-4000, but stops when upgraded software to DSS V.7 ! Absolutely crazy!!

What a rip! I spent an additional $200 on the foot pedal. And for them not to upgrade is a dirty way to drive incremental business. They just made my transcribing a pain in the arse. I would recommend finding a device company that doesn't rip you off less than two years after you buy their product. Not Olympus.

Thankfully, with Apple Time Machine, I was able to go back and simply restore my old dss player software, 6.2.1(E) and my foot pedal works again. Olympus gets a call in the morning and a piece of my mind. You can call them, too, at 1-888-553-4448, 8a-10p M-F EDT to complain long and loud.

I did exactly the same thing. Got the old software back through time machine and promptly called Olympus and told them where to put their product. And unless they change the BS with the pedal, I'm buying anything else next time around.
