While this program sounds extremely helpful, I'm on the lookout for an app that will examine a VIDEO_TS folder and tell me if the contents are in NTSC or PAL format, and maybe if the contents are 4:3 or 16:9 (I realize that menus can have a different ratio than the main feature). Just a thought...

Feature request - crunchie--2008

The easiest solution for me is to use a freeware Mac program called MyDVDedit on a DVD's Video_TS folder:-

This is useful where 3 TV episodes are on the one disc and one is 16:9 - I can change just the one episode so that it automatically switches the TV to 16:9. I can also choose as to how the 16:9 material will look when viewed on a 4:3 TV (16:9 center zoomed to fill the 4:3 frame, in or 16:9 letterboxed).
