I have been affected by the issue with the single user mode script: on restart Finder doesn't launch, nor dock making the system unusuable. Now I've restarted from an external disk just to write this. Can anyone help, please

Well, I'll answer to myself: as far as I have discovered the bug in the single user mode script erases the finder and the dock from /system/library/core services. I copied them from my external system disk (which is updated to the same OS version as the one damaged) and everything seems to work now.A pity I don't use time machine.

I also got hit by this single user script bug. The ONLY thing I could do after NOT being able to start Finder or SystemUI server was to restore from Time Machine Backup.I've been a longtime user of TCC/LCC, this is the first time I've been bitten by a bug like this...
My advice is to love/use Time Machine. *This time* it was Time Machine that saved my bacon.
