Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Less than a month

Recommend Product: NO

I have been affected by the issue with the single user mode script: on restart Finder doesn't launch, nor dock making the system unusuable. Now I've restarted from an external disk just to write this. Can anyone help, please

Affected by the issue with the single user mode script - leoofborg1

I also got hit by this single user script bug. The ONLY thing I could do after NOT being able to start Finder or SystemUI server was to restore from Time Machine Backup.

I've been a longtime user of TCC/LCC, this is the first time I've been bitten by a bug like this...

My advice is to love/use Time Machine. *This time* it was Time Machine that saved my bacon.

Well, I'll answer to myself: as far as I have discovered the bug in the single user mode script erases the finder and the dock from /system/library/core services. I copied them from my external system disk (which is updated to the same OS version as the one damaged) and everything seems to work now.
A pity I don't use time machine.
