Doesn't replace the Finder...unfortunately

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Over One Year

Recommend Product: YES

I have been using Path Finder for years now, but it still pis**s me off that it doesn't really replace the Finder. When applications call the Finder directly, to save a file for example, you get Finder windows popping-up and this is *REALLY* annoying.

Also currently you can’t "browse" network shares, you have to connect to them first (CMD-K) and once you are connected (e.g. cifs://yourmachine for Windows-based shares), you see the network disk in Path Finder.

I would like for the Path Finder crew to stop adding marginal features and get rid of these fundamental issues.

Otherwise I'm very happy with it, works just fine with OS X 10.5 on my early '08 Mac Pro.

Yes, it can - set preferences - bluloo

Hi,

You can set a preference under Reveal in PathFinder which should route (nearly?) all Finder calls to PF. Works for me.

Good luck
