What's the difference between the "Slim" and "Full" Player versions?

After installing this update, I tested on the following site which reports I have the "slim" version.

http://www.explorelearning.com/index.cfm?method=cCorp.dspTest

And after further looking, I see Adobe does indeed list two versions:

http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/alternates/

But I don't see a comparison chart. Anyone know the differences? And I wonder why VersionTracker doesn't point to the Full version?

"Slim" eliminates some backwards compatibility for the purposes of making the the download smaller. For example, you may not be able to play files created by Directory 8.5 and MX.

"Full" includes a more complete collection of xtras, to support a wider range of features and Director versions, but at a larger download size.

I would recommend Full unless you are on, like, a modem or something, since it's not *that* big.

I think that the difference between Slim and Full versions is the number of extensions to the player (called Xtras) that come pre-installed. Generally Xtras are downloaded by the player whenever they are first needed The Full version packages in common Xtras while the Slim version only includes the bare essentials and downloads the rest as they are requested. Slim is intended to be an easier download.

See this page for more info.

Look at the .pkg if you download from versiontracker page. It says
'Shockwave_Installer_full.pkg'
