Quick Look can be a very useful function, but it's only as good as the plug-ins for it. In the case of this plug-in, it falls far short of the mark. As the first plug-in to provide a thumbnail for AVCHD movie files, it delivers a basic image. However, it goes no further. Whereas QuickTime movies in Quick Look are fully playable, and can be viewed at full resolution, and scaled up to full screen, this plug-in only shows a low-resolution thumbnail. Even in full screen view, you just get a big blocky version of the same thumbnail. Also, the thumbnail it displays is the first frame of video - which is not always useful for identifying a video clip. For functionality, this delivers the bare minimum, and to add insult they charge $7.99 for this.
- Can't actually play video - just a still image
- Thumbnails don't scale up
- Only the first frame of video
- Overpriced

We have increased the resolution of the thumbnail in response to this.We have built a filmstrip-style preview of AVCHD movies into FlamingoHD, but that is a whole new product.
