This is truly a breakthrough for Micro$oft. I am no fan at all of this company with its huge pools of cash and inability to truly innovate, etc. (Guess I should not start this here, but I've worked with their products for nearly 20 years and have suffered the entire way.)

I am exceptionally happy with the increased performance of this update. It is truly finally usable on my very big fat documents with which I work. I *wish* they would rewrite the app as a native Cocoa app and change a lot of things regarding keybindings and so forth (well, that wouldn't be a problem if it were cocoa based), but this certainly buys them some time in my book.

I have seen literally 2-3.5 times speed up in Word and Excel in some very heavy docs. Wow. I will finally say that it can be recommended if you need some of the extra portions that Pages or Numbers do not provide for you.
