I have tried every text expander for the Mac that I could find. For quite some time, I used TypeIt4Me. I eventually settled on Typinator. One of the best things about Typinator is that you can make a typo in the middle of an expansion shortcut, delete back through the error, correct the typo, continue on with the rest of the expansion shortcut--and it still expands (which is something that you could not do with the other text expanders that I tried). In addition, Typinator includes a very good auto [spell] correction feature.

P.S. I have no connection with Typinator. I just like it better. If you haven't given either TypeIt4Me or Typinator a try, you probably should.
